The Circle started as a thread between four mothers texting each other at 2am about a 4-year-old's meltdown nobody understood. Eight years later, it's a global community of parents who would rather raise capable kids than impressive ones.

The conversations here are quiet. We don't perform. We don't curate. We talk about the day that didn't go right, the conversation we wish we'd handled better, the small things that worked and the big things that didn't.

Members range from new parents of toddlers to grandparents parenting again the second time around. Languages spoken in the threads include English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Mandarin. Weekly hard-moment threads, monthly book club on substantive parenting writing, occasional in-person meet-ups by city.

What we don't do: mommy wars, dad-bashing, performance content for the algorithm, identification of specific kids by name (for the kids' protection). The bar is set on purpose, and it's how the trust gets built.
